Greeting Card Designer

Symptom:  

After running the installation routine, you try to open the one-click panels in Photoshop CS4.  After rebooting CS4 the panels still do not display properly.  

Explanation:

Panels used by Greeting Card Designer are called Photoshop Extensions and the ability to run these type of panels in Photoshop is new in CS4.  In some installations Photoshop is not recognizing the panels.  The one-click panels provide a nice interface to run all the actions used by GCD.  This does not affect the proper running of the actions directly.

Fix:

To fix the problem please follow these steps;

Step 1:
Click on My Computer and navigate to the folder…

WINDOWS
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\Panels\

MAC
\Applications\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\Panels\

Delete any files and folders in that directory that belong to Greeting Card Designer.  These will be files and folders with names like “create card” and “modify card” in the names.  (Most users will not have any other extensions installed)

Step 2:

Download the two .mxp files in the left column.  (The files are packaged in a Zip file - expand the zip file and place the .mxp file on your desktop.)  Once you place them on your desktop, double click each file.  This will open the Adobe Extension Manager application.  Follow the directions to install them into Adobe Photoshop CS4.  

This routine uses the Adobe Extension Manager to install the panels as opposed to installing them directly from the installation routine.
