New for Version 4.5 of the Greeting Card Designer for Adobe Photoshop is the ability to run all the actions from a custom panel. These new custom panels work just like your standard Photoshop panels. You can open them individually, group them, dock them --- whatever is easiest for you. This is a new function in Adobe Photoshop CS4 so you won’t find these panels in any earlier version.
For information about Photoshop panels see “Manage Windows and Panels” under Photoshop help.
Note: The first time you load a panel Photoshop may ask you to restart the application to “register” the panel. This is a one-time setup step.
Opening Greeting Card Designer Panels
The Greeting Card Designer for Adobe Photoshop is run from two different panels. Both panels can be opened by going to Window > Extensions… The two panels are “Create Cards” and “Modify Cards”.
The Create Card Panel
The first panel, Create Cards, is used to lay out your greeting card. Like the actions, you’ll find buttons for both landscape and portrait cards. All of the buttons on this panel are to be used with a flat high resolution image.
The Modify Card Panel
The second panel is the Modify Cards panel. All of the actions run from this panel are intended to modify a card that was created using one of the actions on the Create Cards panel.
Do not edit any cards prior to running one of these modifications.
Combining the Panels
It will help if you combine the two panels into one palette. Simply drag the tab from one to the other. Again, see the Photoshop help files for information on working with windows and panels.
